They have laid down the law. Google will not allow private profiles on Google+ service. Starting next month, all existing private profiles will be ‘kicked’ off the service. According to them, this is because they “believe that using Google Profiles to help people find and connect with you online is how the product is best used. Private profiles donât allow this, so we have decided to require all profiles to be public.”
However, its not all bad. The minimum requirements that they ask for are really quite basic, all they want is your name and gender be public. Not too difficult.
Still, Google+ will let users retain a level of control over what other people see. Users can remove their profiles from being found in Google search from their account page. They also have options which allow you to see what his profile page will look like to a visitor, in the ‘view profile as’ menu, so that you can tinker around with what you want people to see. Quite similar to the Facebook privacy settings, then.
