Apa Saja Rumor 'iPad 2'?

Jakarta - Rumor-rumor seputar 'iPad 2' alias iPad generasi berikutnya sudah banyak bertebaran. Apa saja? Apple memang diyakini banyak pihak akan kembali memperkenalkan iPad generasi kedua. iPad ini sudah hampir pasti akan dikeluarkan untuk 2011, namun entah kapan tepatnya. Regulator Pantau Trafik Telekomunikasi di Akhir Tahun

Jakarta - Meski trafik telekomunikasi, baik suara maupun SMS tidak meningkat signifikan ketika saat Hari Raya Idul Fitri, BRTI tetap menghimbau agar operator mempersiapkan jaringan dan dukungan penuh saat perayaan Natal dan Tahun Baru 2011. "Hal ini agar pengguna layanan telekomunikasi yang ingin mengucapkan Natal maupun Tahun baru dapat dilayani dengan baik. Meski BRTI tidak melakukan pengetesan secara langsung ke beberapa wilayah dengan drive test, BRTI akan tetap memantau performa kinerja dari para penyelenggara telekomunikasi," tegas regulator telekomunikasi tersebut, dalam keterangannya Jumat, (23/12/2010). Jaminan kualitas layanan juga menyangkut dalam penggunaan data, mengingat penggunaan smartphone dan jejaring sosial yang meningkat. Apalagi di akhir tahun ini ada pertandingan sepakbola antara Indonesia-Malaysia, yang dari pertandingan sebelumnya terlihat peningkatan penggunaan data dengan masuknya beberapa nama pemain menjadi trending topic di Twitter. "Begitu juga dengan penggunaan instant messanger, yang di beberapa wilayah dan segmen pasar, telah menggantikan layanan SMS," tandas BRTI.

Internet Bisa Mengurangi Korupsi?

Jakarta - Internet memang memiliki banyak sekali manfaat, bahkan menurut Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika Tifatul Sembiring internet juga bisa mencegah aksi korupsi yang merajalela. Benarkah? Internet memang sudah menjadi bagian gaya hidup yang sulit dipisahkan dari masyarakat Indonesia. Selain memudahkan mendapat informasi, lewat internet pengguna juga bisa saling berkomunikasi dengan mudah.  Namun selain itu, internet juga dipercaya bisa memberantas aksi korupsi yang kian menjamur.  "Internet itu bisa mencegah korupsi. Misalnya, kemudahan untuk melacak aliran dana karena transaksi yang dilakukan melalui transfer, bukan melalui amplop," ujar Tifatul dalam perbincangan santai di acara Ngopi (Ngobrolin Peristiwa Internet) Bareng detikINET , Rabu (22/12/2010) malam.    Karena menilik banyak manfaat yang bisa diambil melalui internet, pemerintah pun berupaya untuk terus memperluas cakupan internet di Indonesia. SBY: TV Digital Bikin Kumis Pakde Karwo Makin Kinclong

Jakarta -
Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) tampil santai saat meresmikan pemancar digital milik LPP TVRI. SBY bahkan sempat beberapa kali melontarkan candaan soal kumis dan Timnas Indonesia di ajang Piala AFF.
Candaan tersebut dilontarkan SBY dalam video conference dengan Gubernur Jawa Timur, Sukarwo.
"Kumis Pakde Karwo jadi lebih terang gara-gara TV digital," canda SBY yang melakukan video conference dari Auditorium TVRI di Senayan, Jakarta, Selasa (21/12/2010).
Yang diajak bercanda pun tak mau kalah. "Dengan kumis ini justru bisa menimbulkan kemesraan dan menghilangkan kemiskinan," kata dia yang disambut gelak tawa para hadirin.
Sukarwo di sela video conference mengajak SBY berdoa agar Timnas bisa menang saat menghadapi partai tandang di Stadion Bukit Jalil, Malaysia, 26 Desember mendatang.
"Mari kita berikan doa restu untuk Timnas. Kalau Timnas kita menang, patut kita syukuri. Tapi kalau Timnas Malaysia kalah, juga kita syukuri," canda presiden yang diikuti gelak tawa para hadirin di acara peresmian tersebut.

Peluncuran Google TV Ditunda

Jakarta - Google TV yang sedianya digembar-gemborkan segera meluncur tahun ini harus mengalami penundaan. Karena hal ini, Google juga meminta kepada para produsen TV yang menjadi partnernya agar jangan dulu mengumumkan produk TV Google mereka. Ada apa gerangan? Rupanya, seperti dilansir Wall Street Journal dan dikutip detikINET , Senin (20/12/2010), penundaan ini harus dilakukan lantaran Google merasa masih harus meningkatkan kemampuan software Google TV sebelum produk TV berbasis layanan Google TV menginvasi pasar. Kendati demikian, Samsung sebagai salah satu partner Google dalam hal ini tetap akan meluncurkan TV web berbasis layanan Google TV sesuai jadwal, yakni pada ajang Consumer Electronics Show (CES) di Las Vegas, Amerika Serikat, awal bulan depan. Google sendiri belum secara resmi mengomentari alasan penundaan ini. Gina Weakley selaku juru bicara Google hanya menegaskan soal tujuan jangka panjang mereka berkaitan dengan layanan Google TV.  "Tujuan jangka panjang kami adalah berkolaborasi dengan komunitas produsen elektronik yang luas guna membantu mendorong TV generasi terbaru. Kami berharap dapat bekerja dengan mitra lain untuk menghadirkan lebih banyak perangkat baru ke pasaran di tahun-tahun mendatang," terangnya. TV berbasis Google TV memungkinkan para penontonnya bisa berselancar di internet menggunakan TV. Beberapa perangkat dengan kemampuan ini sebenarnya sudah hadir beberapa bulan silam, contohnya seperti yang diperkenalkan <a href="http://us.detikinet.com/read/2010/09/25/141048/1448189/317/sony-segera-luncurkan-google-tv"" Sony </a" dan <a href="http://us.detikinet.com/read/2010/10/01/162318/1453319/317/dahului-sony-google-tv-logitech-meluncur-6-oktober"" Logitech </a" .  Sementara itu, partner Google lainnya seperti Toshiba, LG, dan Sharp menuruti anjuran Google untuk turut menunda peluncuran Google TV mereka. Padahal sejatinya, sama seperti Samsung, mereka berencana menampilkan produk tersebut di ajang CES.    "Kami mengerti pertimbangan Google soal roadmap produk di masa depan, dan kami yakin keputusan ini akan menghadirkan produk yang baik dalam kerangka waktu yang tepat," kata Jeff Barney selaku Vice President Digital Product Division Toshiba.

Komikoo, Jembatan Pasar dan Potensi Komik Lokal

Jakarta - Dulu komik lokal sempat berjaya. Namun saat ini, sudah tak mampu melawan gelombang komik luar. Komikoo, sebuah situs komik lokal mencoba membangkitkan komik lokal dari tidur panjangnya. Besarnya potensi komik ini rupanya menarik perhatian dari Iqbal Aribaskara, pemilik komikoo.com. Dirinya melihat masih ada jarak yang cukup jauh antara pasar dengan potensi komikus lokal. "Kalau kita masuk ke toko buku. Segmen komik ramai. Ini artinya marketnya besar. Di tambah di lingkungan saya banyak orang berbakat. Ada bakat, market, tapi ngga punya penghubung. Komikoo berusaha menjadi penghubung antara market dan bakat," jelasnya saat berbincang dengan detikINET , Minggu (19/12/2010). Memang saat ini sudah banyak situs-situs komik yang ada di internet. Iqbal pun mengklaim bahwa situsnya merupakan situs komik lokal yang pertama. "Mulai ide dari 2007, dan kita develop 2008 akhir. Pada tahun 2008 pertengahan versi pertama dan peda 2009 sampai sekarang kita sudah versi kedua," katanya. Di versi keduanya saat ini, komikoo mengakomodasi versi mobile. Dengan adanya versi mobile ini, member komikoo pun bisa dengan mudah mengunggah karyanya. "Semua orang bisa upload, kasih karya. Saya harapkan komikoo jadi tempat mereka jual karya. Dan mereka bisa hidup dari situ," harapnya.

Selain PHK Karyawan, Yahoo Juga Tutup Satu Produknya

Jakarta - Kabar minor dari Yahoo tak lantas berhenti dengan berita pemangkasan ratusan karyawannya. Laporan terbaru menyebutkan, raksasa internet itu  juga bakal mematikan salah satu produk miliknya. Korban penutupan ini mendera Yahoo Buzz. Laporan ini bukan lagi kabar burung, namun sudah dikonfirmasi langsung oleh Yahoo sendiri. "Kami terus melakukan evaluasi dan prioritas dari portofolio produk serta layanan kami, dan kami merencanakan untuk mematikan beberapa produk dalam beberapa bulan ke depan, seperti Yahoo Buzz dan lainnya," tukas keterangan Yahoo, dikutip detikINET dari News Factor Network, Sabtu (18/10/2010). Ya, Anda benar, sepertinya tak cuma satu produk Yahoo yang akan menjadi 'tumbal'. Mereka sendiri yang mengindikasikan bakal melakukan shut down terhadap lebih dari satu layanannya. Konon, korban selanjutnya adalah Delicous, MyBlogLog, dan Alta Vista. Namun untuk layanan-layanan ini, Yahoo masih belum memberi konfirmasi lebih lanjut. Sebelumnya, Yahoo telah memastikan bakal memangkas sekitar 4 persen jumlah karyawan mereka. Diperkirakan angka itu mencapai sekitar 600 orang karyawan. Kebanyakan adalah dari divisi produk. Meski demikian, Yahoo mengatakan akan tetap melakukan rekrutmen untuk hal-hal yang jadi prioritas. "Perubahan kali ini adalah bagian dari strategi kami untuk menempatkan Yahoo agar mendapatkan pertumbuhan revenue dan perluasan margin," sebut pernyataan Yahoo. Sejak 2009, bersamaan dengan masuknya CEO Carol Bartz, Yahoo mencapai peningkatan margin keuntungan. Tapi di sisi lain, pertumbuhan pendapatan mereka disebut terhenti. Sedangkan pageview Yahoo menurun 4 persen.
