In an interview with MCV, Valve’s Dough Lombardi and Jason Holtman admitted that they were a bit late on delivering the Steam experience on mobile platforms, however they will consider further development as more request start to pour in.
âWe do feel weâre late on mobile across many of Valveâs services,â said the firmâs marketing VP, Doug Lombardi. âIt is something weâre starting to look at now. People are starting to ask us for it. The more requests we receive, the more we feel the need to act on them.â
âMobile is really interesting. If youâre making games, you have to be thinking about having a platform in this space. But itâs too early to say anything definitive,â added Valveâs Jason Holtman, director of business development and legal affairs.
Personally, the only functionality I would want from a Steam app is the ability to purchase a game from the app itself and begin downloading on a selected PC through a simple webUI interface. That would make life a lot more simpler.
Note: Hey Valve, in case you are inspired by this idea, I want to free Steam games, plus 10% cut on profits, plus credits. Just saying.
