Sony disappoints with Q2 earnings

Just when many had hopes on the new devices Sony Ericsson launched to boost the company to a formidale position against its competitors disappointment hit with the latest Q2 earnings. The results show that Sony Ericsson, in the second quarter of 2011 lost $70.5 million. In the same quarter of last year, they gained 17.5 billion. They also shipped 7.6 million devices (Tiny when you compare it to Samsung’s Galaxy S2 selling 3 million in 55 days) and had an overall revenue of $1.7 billion. This too disappointed as, Phandroid reports that in the same quarter of last year they netted $2.5 billion in revenue Only time will tell if the company will be able to pull off a comeback on the back of a recovering Japan to pull off better Q3 results.
