With the rumors of Apple currently working on an newer version of the iPad dubbed as ipad HD now Motorola has joined the race too. According to engadget Motorola is working on a new Xoom. This time it’s focusing on a new screen resolution and format. Motorola believes to compete with the iPad 2 it will need to change the screen format from 16:9 to 4:3 like the iPad and increase the pixel-density to 2048×1536 to compete with the future iPad HD. If they do decide to go with the old-school ratio (4:3), put on a higher res display and run it with the upcoming Android Ice Cream Sandwich, I must say it will be a tempting deal when it lands later this year or early next year. We will have to wait and see what is Motorola planning for the new Xoom.
