Apple 1080p HD+ movies coming soon?

Now Apple has, for some reason, limited most of its content to a maximum of 720P resolution. They have even actively downscaled 1080P to 720P for Apple TV. Reports now emerging say that this may all soon change, and suggest Apple may begin testing a limited selection of 1080p movies on iTunes.

According to AppleInsider, a small amount of movies are in the works to be offered with a 1080P resolution, scheduled for release in September or October. In case you been out of the loop, HD+(or 1080P)  is the highest industry resolution these days at a 1920 x 1080 resolution. This may lead to 1080P options on all subsequent movie offerings from Apple.

Their sources also suggest that a new Apple TV sporting an A5 chip may be in the works and will support 1080p streams. There was also evidence found in iOS5 code that suggests 1080p would be supported in the new update. With the rumors circulating about the iPad HD due in a few months, it looks like Apple users will finally be able to move up in the world and enjoy 1080P like the rest of us
