A website called Zatz Not Funny is claiming new details about Amazon’s almost-there-but-never-confirmed Android-based tablets.
The news comes via a “source of the site” who learnt the info from an unnamed but “highly placed Amazon employee”, and while this may seem all merry-go-round dodgy, the information, actually, makes sense.
The sources claim that the tablet will have two screens, one in color and one featuring an e-ink screen similar to Amazon’s Kindle e-Book reader. The two screens will be stacked similarly to Nintendo DS, with the tablet incorporating “a clever case design that keeps the screens protected”.
The source also claims that the tablets were suppose to start shipping this month, however due to shortages with the tablet’s displays, the launch has been delayed to August. No pricing or any other details were mentioned.
An e-Book reader cum tablet from Amazon kind of makes sense, to be honest. Of course, this is just a rumor, so let’s wait it out till Amazon gets on with an announcement. A long due announcement, that is.
