An iPhone 4 (or 4S, it isn’t clear) self destructed on an Australian airliner ala Mission Impossible, although we suspect it wasn’t really ‘cool’ for the owner of the device.
In a press release, the airliner, Regional Express, stated that the iPhone “started emitting a significant amount of dense smoke, accompanied by a red glow”. Thankfully, however, no one was harmed, and all pre-cautionary measures were taken with full effect.
