HTC partners with Beats by Dr. Dre

HTC is well, flush with cash these days and it was only a matter of time before they bought themselves a present. And here it is: A 51% (seemingly majority) stake in Beats Audio, a high-end, high-quality audio accessories company for $309 million.

The company has been on a streak lately, having acquired Dashwire, a cloud-computing company, and S3 graphics, which specializes in graphic chips (obviously).

If you’ve been living in a cave recently, Beats audio was started by legendary producer Dr. Dre, with the ‘ phones themselves being manufactured by Monster. They’ve been spotted in major blockbusters, music videos, and practically everywhere in the media.

Beats and the Taiwanese manufacturer will be initially be collaborating and innovating with audio for phones technology, but there is no news on when we’ll be seeing the first products from this deal but industry hotshots are speculating on a late Fall release date.

If this deal is anything like the HP deal we saw from Beats we’re in for a real treat. Heres the video Beats posted to their Youtube channel on Wednesday.
