Facebook features new gaming canvas and ticker

Facebook has updated their game pages to feature a much bigger canvas; i.e. gamers will get to play their game in bigger / near full resolution now on facebook. Plus there is a brand new ticker on right side similar to facebook chat. This new ticker is focused for gamers and shows filtered stream of their friends gaming updates.

These two changes will allow people to play without need to switch to full screen mode in games as well as always keep an eye on requests and achievements being done by other friends. You can easily remove your game related posts from wall from within the ticker. There is game bookmark option for more frequently played games too. According to Facebook these changes will allow people to find out new games that their friends started to play more easily, as well as more returning users for existing games they play ensuring more traffic for developers.

Other than the apparent changes to games canvas, there are also new privacy settings for games. Where you can set to hide selective game feeds from other friends e.g. if you want people to see your Farmville requests but block the Cityville updates then you can do so in the privacy settings as per your requirement. Developers will have to update their games to adopt to new redesigned canvas and soon you will see all games adopt the new bigger game screen canvas.

All these changes seem to be a direct consequence of Google+ games initiative as G+ game screen was bigger and gaming feeds could be easily hidden. Facebook just upped their canvas fast to adopt to bigger screen as well as add better ticker and privacy settings to keep gamers stick to their platform for playing social games.
