In what could turn out to be the largest lawsuit faced by Google yet, British Telecom has sued the search engine giant for pretty much all of their major services.
Considered to be one of the world’s oldest telecom operator with over 10,000 patents, BT has sued Google for various infringements of products and patents over Google Search, Android, AdSense, Gmail, Google+, Google Docs, Google Music, and Google Maps. The lawsuit was filed by BT last Thursday in a court in Delaware, for an undisclosed amount.
Talking to CNET, a Google spokesperson said that, “We believe these claims are without merit, and we will defend vigorously against them.â€

It’s obvious that a company as big as BT wouldn’t have gone straight to the court before discussing things with Google first. Clearly things didn’t work out, and BT is now seeking injunction against many of Google’s services and claiming damages for various patent infringements. It’s obvious that Google will fight back with full force, so let’s see where this battle is headed.
