HTC Releasing First Quad-Core Smartphone?

Just when you thought dual-core processors in smartphones are here to stay, there comes a report of a company breaking that barrier and one-upping their products. If the following report is to be believed, HTC is close to unveiling their upcoming smartphone titled HTC Edge and it’ll have a quad-core processor.

Pocketnow has the details and the above image, which looks pretty legit but is still unconfirmed. Apparently, it’s going to sport a 4.7 inch phone and high-end specs like 1 GB of RAM, 8 megapixel camera, 32 GB of internal space, and will be the first to have NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor also code-named Kal-El, which will have four cores running at 1.5 GHz. That’s the speediest smartphone by far and even rivals some mid-range PC’s if true. But is it true?

It’s probably also going to run Android 4.0, and according to the site it isn’t too far away and could be releasing in the next few months. It’ll be a major advancement for HTC to innovate in such a way, and only time will tell whether this is true or just a bogus report.
