Sony Pictures to make Steve Jobs movie

Its taken just a couple of days for the opportunists. Sony Pictures have reportedly acquired the rights to make a movie from the official “approved” Steve Jobs biography which is scheduled to be released later this month. They have signed a deal with the author of the official biography, which will see the author, Walter Isaacson, get $3 million in case the movie is made and $1 million even if the idea is scrapped completely.

This isnt the first time we’ll be seeing  Jobs on the silver screen. The first time that Steve Jobs’ life had been made into the subject of a movie, was The Pirates of Silicon Valley back in 1999, which was based on the rivalry between him and Bill Gates.

We have recently seen such movies really take off. The appeal of The Social Network and Moneyball has been huge. If Sony can put together a director and cast of quality they have another big hit on their hands in all probability. Lets see where this goes
