Microsoft slips new Windows Phone 7 handset names

In providing the details for a Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) app development competition, Microsoft inadvertently slipped the name of the prize handsets. The two prizes are the Nokia Sabre and Searay.

I wouldn’t be surprised if these are just codenames for Nokia’s upcoming WP7.5 based OS, but the fact that they have now completely editied out the names from the Terms & Conditions hints that the Sabre and Searay will, in fact be the name of these handsets. Additionally, as you’ll see from the image above, the Samsung Wembley and Yukon were also mentioned, which are, as yet, unannounced handsets. I wonder whether it was the Searay or the Sabre, over which Joe Marini was let go.
