The real cost of Sony's PlayStation Network fiasco

First Sony experienced a massive security breach which forced it to shut down the PlayStation Network, then there were difficulties in restoring the game service, and then there was a security flaw in the PlayStation Network password reset feature. The company is still recovering from all the damage and drama, but we're wondering: Just what is the real cost of this debacle?a

To answer that question, Mashable pointed out an infographic which was created by the folks behind Promotionalcodes.org using information from the Ponemon Institute.a

The infographic gives a convenient summary of the incident's timeline as well as an overview of who suffered — and how much.a

Turns out that the whole mess cost Sony quite a bit more than just a few Costco-sized bottles of aspirin.a
