Apple is allowing developers to work on a beta Mac OS X Lion update that will incorporate iCloud features on iPhones as well as their own apps, coinciding with the next update to the mobile operating system, due to arrive with the much anticipated iPhone 5 this fall.a
As The Next Web reports, "This update (is being) provided solely for the purpose of testing iCloud features and is not an official update build."a
iCloud, announced in early June, came out with much fanfare through an appearance by Steve Jobs, who told us that this would not only store all our various content in the Apple world, but also wirelessly push it to all our devices.a
Some of the features that may be integrated into iCloud for Lion include Mail, Contacts, Calendar and Find My iPhone. a
When Mac OS X Lion was released in July, Apple announced that in its first day, more than one million users bought and downloaded Apple's eight major OS release, making it Apple's fastest selling OS release in its history and a relative bargain at $29.99.a
Lion came out with 250 new features, including multi-touch gestures, full-screen apps and Mission Control, which allows users to see everything running on your Mac at that moment.a
