Google trademarks Photovine, new photosharing site on the cards

aaaaaSearch giant Google could be looking to introduce a brand new photosharing website called Photovine, if the USPTO trademark of the same name is anything to go by.

aaaaaThe trademark application says it’s a service to the “transmission of visual images and data by telecommunications networks, wireless communication networks, the Internet, information services networks and data networks.”

aaaaaIt looks like the service could be an addition to Google’s every growing suite of cloud services, allowing photo synchronization between multiple devices. Although it is not clear what faith Google’s present image sharing website Picasa will meet once the new service is introduced.
