We already knew that Internet Explorer was on a steady slide of decline thanks to the power of Firefox and Chrome, but this report is particularly noteworthy and speaks a lot about modern browser adoption.
Neowin and Computerworld report that the current market share of the Microsoft browser is 51.9%, which is a far cry from the dominant numbers it used to get just a few years ago. And that’s not it – the report suggests that this figure could very well fall below 50% if this don’t change drastically which they don’t look like. However, Microsoft did say that with the release of Internet Explorer 9 they would be the dominant browser on Windows 7. On that front, they did meet their expectation but that’s not too much to brag about.
