MacBook Air with Sandy Bridge processors coming next month

aaaaaIf  Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Ku is to be believed, and given his rather accurate past predictions of Apple’s upcoming hardware changes there’s no reason not to, then the new MacBook Airs are coming with Sandy Bridge processors.

aaaaaAs revealed to AppleInsider, an order of 380,000 Sandy Bridge MacBook Airs has been placed for both the 11.6″ and 13.3″ models for production during June. Almost 55% of these new 32nm based Sandy Bridge processors will be going towards the 11.6″ model. I’m guessing that the 11.6″ models will be carrying the new Core i5 CPUs while the 13.3″ models will carry the Core i7 chips. The 45nm based two year old Penryn Core 3 Duo processors will be phased out in June as well, with only 80,000 models being produced this month.

aaaaaThis mid-2011 refresh of the new MacBook Air, introduced in late 2010, will bring a much welcomed boost to the new MBA.
