Baltimore Police and University Officials Meet About Security

Baltimore police and the security chiefs of universities and Johns Hopkins Hospital have met to review plans for responding to emergencies like the shooting of a doctor last week at the hospital. Commissioner Fred Bealefeld met with representatives from Hopkins, the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Coppin State University, Loyola University, Maryland Institute College of Art, the University of Maryland at Baltimore, Morgan State University and University of Baltimore.
Police will work to make sure responders are using the same technical language and compatible communications equipment. The department also plans to work with schools and hospitals to practice evacuations.
